With a goal of making a simple home merging modern design and sustainability, this project is a passive solar design typology constructed on an infill site. Its primary sustainable benefits come from common sense planning and choices instead of the “green gadget” approach. Modest in size and material finishes, the project focuses on ease of living and simplicity of upkeep. All exterior materials require no maintenance which is also true of the landscape which tends toward a re-creation of a beach ecosystem.
