Located in the Telluride Ski Area Mountain Village, this family vacation home blends modern design with industrial qualities evocative of the nearby historic mining structures. The exposed primary structure is a steel frame which supports thick structural insulated panels that achieve an R-60 or super-insulated roof condition known as a “cold roof”. The ceiling, walls, floors, doors and even the stair is covered with ash wood which brings a welcomed warmth to the interior spaces. The exterior is clad in a red sandstone that is commonly found in the surrounding San Juan Mountains.
