A key regenerative strategy in architecture is the re-use of existing buildings to save resources. As part of a comprehensive remodel, this new stair contributes to the revitalization of this residence. The original design located a stair in the middle of the living area which prompted the idea for a lighter and more open stair. Precise detailing of the stair creates the feel of a furniture piece integrated within the open plan space.
